D A Browne & Son butchers has been established since 1934 and is now in the 3rd generation with  shops in Diss and Harleston.

D A Browne & Son is a traditional family butchers. Founded in 1934 by Dan Browne, the business is currently managed by his grandson Danny with shops in Diss and Harleston.

Though much has changed in the trade over the past 76 years “Brownes” have kept many of the old traditional ways. Our meat is sourced locally, mainly from Norfolk & Suffolk.  We are very fortunate to have excellent long standing farms from surrounding areas which supply us with our Beef, Pork & Lamb.

We have been curing and smoking our own bacon, gammon and ham for over 20 years using local pork.  Our curing methods have not changed in this time.  The curing takes weeks and not minutes unlike manufactured bacon and hams.

“Brownes Bangers” have become a large selling point over the last few years.  Boasting over 30 different flavours, including our traditional sausage which has been made from the same recipe for over 70 years.  Please click here for our full range of sausages.

We pride ourselves on providing an excellent customer service.  Whether you need guidance for recipes, advice on the right cut of meat for you or you are in the need of a delivery service, we are here to help.
